Camping Part II - Vampire Story
Camping Part II
Two years have passed so far. I let my hair grow some more. I'm twelve now. I've grown distant to everyone I once knew, even my parents. I would say that night gave me the mentality of an adult. I was in the car with my dad. He was taking me to Silver Summer Camp.
"Here. I got you something kiddo", dad said, trying to cheer me up. He pulled out an necklace with an cross on it.
"I think I'll take that," I said.
"Wow," my dad said. "You're actually accepting a gift. First time in two yea--" His speech was cut off when he halted to an stop. A woman was standing in the middle of the road. She looked at me and smiled like she knew me.
"Dad ... move this car now," I said.
"Hold on, sport. She might be hurt," my dad said. "Wait here," dad said.
"I'm coming with you," I said.
"Will you just wait," my dad said.
I got a flash back to that horrible night when I said that same thing to my friend. My dad got out the car, and I saw him talking to her. She kept glaring at me. Then I remembered. She was the one who held me while that red robed lady was talking to me. They both made their way to the car and got in.
"This is Mary," my dad said. "We're goona give her an lift."
"Hi," she said holding out her hand. I shook it, and it was cold as an ice cube.
"Dad, I'm going to get in the back, and Mary can get up front," I said.
"Ummm, okay," my dad said. We switched seats, and I took the back seat behind her. I gripped my boy scout knife tight, ready for her to make the wrong move. We started to drive,"So, what are you doing out here at dark?" my dad said.
"I work for the forest service," she said. "Kids around this camps tend to get lost and some of them are never found."
"Did you here about the incident where an entire camp of kids disappeared?" my dad said.
"Yeah I did," she said. "There was only one survivor out of them. No one knows what happened," she said.
"Well, there's the survivor in the back seat," my dad said.
"No way?" she said ."You're a celebrity kid," she said. The conversation died down but she kept staring at me. My dad had his earphones up loud listening to Eminem. She finally spoke. "You should not have ran away from us," she said. "We are 1 million strong. Do you think we would not have found you?"
"I tell you what," I said. I put up my middle finger. "I'll give you the finger, and then you turn around before you get hurt."
"Our general wants you," she said. "But after that, you will feel my teeth puncture you're neck ... kiddo" Her voice was so stern.
I didn't see a pretty woman in front of me. I saw an predator ... a humanoid parasite was all she was. I had to think of something quick. "Look, I'm sorry," I said. Hoping she had some compassion was the only way me and my dad were going to make it out of this alive. "I'm sorry for being rude to you, and I'm sorry for running away from you. Please, just let me and my dad go."
"Tell you what," she said. "I'm going to tell your dad to stop the car. I'm going to knock him unconscious. Then you come with me, and I'll let your dad live," she said. "But try anything, and I'll break his neck understood?"
"Yes, understood." I said.
She tapped my dad and told him to stop the car. Once he did, she took his head an put it through the window.
"HEY," I said.
"He's still alive," she said. She grabbed my arm and pulled me outside. I took out my knife, and she punched me in the stomach so hard I was out cold.
I woke up in some kind of room tied up with another kid.
"It's about time you woke up," he said. "I'm Gab. You?"
"I'm in pain," I said.
"Well, they didn't bite you yet, so I'm guessing it's coming from something else," Gab said.
Suddenly, the door burst open and a woman came in. "Your turn," she said to Gab. Her teeth grew sharper, and she started making her way to us.
"DO SOMETHING," he said to me.
"Follow my lead," I said. We twisted ourselves so that I was facing her. I kicked both of my legs and kicked both her legs out. Then as she was coming down, I curled my legs so my knees were facing up. She landed right on them, and she was out cold.
"Where did you learn to do that?" Gab said.
"My dad's ex-military," I said before breaking my wrist free and untying Gab. I grabbed an steel rod and a rusty kitchen knife out the corner. I tossed the rod to him. "I'm more of an stabber," I said. "Now, let's try to get out of here.
