Lost Boys Movie

by Gerald
(USA)

The Lost Boys movie; one for all vampire enthusiasts! Although there are several great vempire movies out there, you would not be able to talk about great vampire movies without mentioning 'Lost Boys.' It is a favorite vampire movie for many. Released in 1987, it had an a-list of teen stars at that time.

The Lost Boys

It's not one of your typical vampire movies, in my opinion, as most vampire movies focused on one particular vampire.

This film focused more on the human plight to rid several vampires from the town. Lost Boys involved two brothers who move to Southern California with their mother to live with their grandfather.

As they drive into town they see graffiti on the back of a road sign that says, " Welcome to the Vampire Capital of the world." Little did they know how true it would be.

Corey Haim and Jason Patrick are the brothers and Keifer Sutherland is the leader of a youthful, at least when they were "turned", group of vampires preying on the mortals around a amusement park.

One of the things that is quite enjoyable about this vampire film it that it is quite gory, especially when the vampires ate. In addition, the Lost Boys movie is more than humorous.

Corey Feldman was a vampire hunter wannabe who was funnier in this movie than any other of his I have seen.

The twist at the end of the film in which their mother's new beau, is in fact the head vampire made it all the more enjoyable.

That and the fact that the crazy Granddad, who told the family along that there were too many vampires ended up being the ultimate hero.

It has every vampire cliche you could think of (garlic, crosses, holy water ,etc.). The Lost Boys movie is scary and funny at the same time.
