The Monster Inside

I smell the warm scent,
It's so delicious.
The time of the people has come to an end,
My party is ready to pounce.
They wait for my command,
They are ravenous for the blood craze they have.
I signal for them to move in and surround them,
I lead the way to the crowded street.
We enter, they scream and run like scattered ants,
My party waits in the shadows and then pounces.
We are the hunter, they are the prey.
weak humans with nothing more than time to spare,
We feed on the blood and then we look at ourselves.
The blood we craze is the monster within us,
We leave the bodies and street behind us and then stalk off into the night and disappear under the light of the moon.
