Vampire Poetry 'A Vampire's Shadow'

I have been wondering the land
Walking so many streets bathed in moonlight
When the light of the day
Disappears beneath the horizon
I'll continue my search
Seeking your shadow,
Throughout this lonely world

For so many years
We stood together
Our lives seemed so precious
So long as we had each other

But then that fateful day came
When things would nevermore be the same
We were torn apart
Two immortals, tied by our hearts

But now for hundreds of years
I have traveling many lands
Watching time sluggishly progress
Mortals living and dying
Only I continue surviving
Is there really any proof,
In that distant "I love you"

Could you still be alive?
Or did they learn how end your life?
Perhaps the need of blood
Prevented you from moving forward
Is that how you died,
Longing for a drop of life giving crimson?

Until I learn of the fate that befell you
I will continue to travel this world
I, who cannot die,
Lost in this bloodstained land
Your memory is just too strong
So Ill disappeared into the night
Longing to find that fleeting, missing shadow
